Let's pretend that some shadowy benefactor came to you and told you that he would pay you $100,000 a year. All you have to do in exchange for this paycheck is to find a job that you love to do, that you would rather be doing than hanging out in front of the TV or the computer screen, and work it like a regular job for the rest of your life. (Yes, you can take vacations.) What would your dream job be? (Let's keep it a little realistic, now; there probably are no positions available for, e.g., a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Official Bra Fitter.)

I'd like to write Novels and screenplays. I think I'd be willing to pay someone else to let me do that, hehe!

Computer game designer

I've already got the "job" I always wanted, so unless he's willing to pay me to be a wife and mother, then I'll have to pass on this one.

Haha...my ideal job would be a rock star because of the money, nice clothes, and travel

But for real...i want to teach music during the day and play in a symphony at night

Poetmom, I think our theoretical benefactor would be willing to call you an "in-home, in-family daycare provider"...

Personally I'd keep several aspects of my current job (the ones where I get to solve problems and address peoples' needs) and dump the ones I don't like (mainly dealing with management issues and interpersonal problems).

I love being a Soldier and I plan to be a teacher when I get out (I'm actually doing both right now as I teach Korean to new servicemembers). But, in the interest of this thread, I'd have to answer Major League Baseball Umpire. I'd love to be a player, but lack the skills to do it. But, I could be an ump.

I'd open a bookstore.

i can't decide !. i'm like that. i can't even take hypothetical situations lightly, citahellion ... is there any hope for me ?

but if forced to choose, i guess i'd be paid to write (but that fact alone would possibly be enough to make me not want to do it anymore).

I would either be a stay at home mom...

Or a super model!

I'm on it! And anyone gives us any lip, they get the heave-ho!

And the Yankees get the heave-ho just because they're the damn Yankees, right? lol

I'd toss them all with the slightest provocation - maybe none... Jeter'd be first with A-Rod quickly following.

I'd be an ice cream taster (it is too a real job!). I'd have to invest in a personal trainer, but it would be worth it. Do you think they'd let my boys come to work with me?

I'd be a travel writer. Meandering around the globe all the time would be fun, and I think I'd grow to deal with living out of a suitcase, especially If I got a big expense account.
