Let's pretend that some shadowy benefactor came to you and told you that he would pay you $100,000 a year. All you have to do in exchange for this paycheck is to find a job that you love to do, that you would rather be doing than hanging out in front of the TV or the computer screen, and work it like a regular job for the rest of your life. (Yes, you can take vacations.) What would your dream job be? (Let's keep it a little realistic, now; there probably are no positions available for, e.g., a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Official Bra Fitter.)

I could only stand to be an umpire if I were guaranteed not to be fired, and even then I think the twisted pleasure I'd get from making the players and fans miserable would last maybe a week. Yes, I hate baseball.
Everything else sounds pretty neat, though. Owning a bookstore would be a very good job for me too. Maybe I could specialize in selling only books I've read. It would be a pretty small bookstore for a while, but I'd be very happy to expand my booklist.

i can't even take hypothetical situations lightly, citahellion ... is there any hope for me ?

but if forced to choose, i guess i'd be paid to write (but that fact alone would possibly be enough to make me not want to do it anymore).

There's always hope, mig. Maybe you can take the money and just keep doing the writing that you already do here, and pretend that isn't what you're being paid for.
