Born to run?

It was just this past Sunday when Krystal stood up for the first time. And she didn't do it at all yesterday, or the day before, that I know of.

Well.

Today apparently was a different story.

I went to play in my ping-pong league tonight, and Ann was home alone with Krystal, hanging out and watching her CSI and Law & Order and so forth, when Krystal pulled herself up again using the coffee table. Ann ran to grab the camera in case she did it again. And she did. Ann called Krystal's name to get her to look at the camera, and apparently distracted her enough that she sat down just as Ann took the picture. Fortunately, there was still one shot left in the camera, so Ann waited patiently and determined not to say anything this time.
She didn't have to wait long; on our now-finished roll there should be a great picture of Krystal standing up, holding on to the coffee table. (I'll post it as soon as I can.)
Then Krystal stood up a fourth time. Then a fifth. And each time she was staying standing a little longer, trying to get a feel for this whole balance thing. And every time she flopped back down on her butt, she let out a little grunt of annoyance, stuck out her lip in determination, and prepared to try again. After the fifth time, Ann started keeping a tally of the standing attempts.
Somewhere around the 8th stand, Krystal managed to take a small step.
Near the 12th stand, she took more like one and a half.
And around the 17th or so, she took three steps.
After the 21st stand-up, she had finally pooped herself out enough, and crawled off to do something else for awhile.

So it looks to me like some pretty rapid progress is going to be made here, and we're going to have a very dangerous baby on our hands really soon!

(Especially since she's also got a second tooth showing now....)
