Gotta love Vegas, baby!

I'm sure this will shock and amaze someone (not sure who, but there's gotta be at least ONE person SOMEWHERE), but my daughter was born, and at this time remains, out of wedlock.

But that's about to change! We've got plane tickets, chapel reservations, a hotel room, a best man, a bridesmaid, and someone to help my darling cutie baby to be a flower girl. We're heading to Las Vegas, to be joined in matrimony under the auspices of Caesar himself! (Well, in his palace, anyway; Caesar wasn't available to perform the actual ceremony.)

It's been remarkably stress-free so far, the whole process has been very painless. Caesar's Palace offers a variety of wedding packages and we picked a nice, middle-of-the-road one. There are some very nice perks for spa time, a limo, and a few other nifties that we're looking forward to. (Unfortunately, a baby-sitter was not among them, but we've got family coming, so we have high hopes of getting at least one night to ourselves....)

Of course the ultimate outcome has yet to be determined (the "blessed event" isn't until December 13th), but I'm very happy with the process to date. We've just had to confer on flower choices, color selections, when we want the limo, how to get our marriage license, and a couple other necessary details. Since they do all this stuff every day of the year, I expect that the event will go off very smoothly.

And, the reason we chose to do it at this specific time is because the annual Table Tennis National Championship Tournament is the same week (starting Wednesday; we're marrying on Monday), so after two days of wedded bliss we get to hang out with a few hundred like-minded ping-pong freaks and have a great time!

p.s. I've told everybody else so far that we already have a house full of stuff and a ton of baby gear besides, so we don't really need any wedding gifts, but on the other hand, who doesn't enjoy getting stuff? So just in case, we registered at Target...

Whoo hoo!  A JU wedding!  We've had births, deaths (someone's pet died), engagements, reunions, separations...but this will be our first wedding.

I'm in Vegas...am I invited? Haven't been to a Vegas wedding yet. I wonder if the chapels let you sit in there and just watch. I'm sure there's all sorts...lol

Thanks, everybody!

SPCNS, I hadn't even thought of doing a "theme wedding" for this, and it's too late now, but I like the idea... a net for a veil, the flower girl scatters ping-pong balls down the aisle, a flat green cake with white lines, and (for the Extreme TT Enthusiast) Jan-Ove Waldner as the honorary officiant... sounds good to me!

Marcie (and anyone else in or near Vegas), if you want to show up, you certainly can! Monday, December 13th, Caesar's Palace, in the Small Chapel, 1:30 pm.

Island_gurl, that's one of the "nice" things about the package deal, photography is included (and we're not supposed to take our own pictures during the ceremony) so I'll have an album full of photos to share. I'll spare you all the gory details of each individual shot, but I'll try to post at least a couple of nice photos. Probably won't be until the 20th or so, though!
