I mentioned in my previous blog entry here that I owned a pair of oversize black contact lenses. Since at least a minimal level of interest was displayed, here for your viewing pleasure are some pictures of me wearing those contacts.

Here I am a knife fight victim. (Note the defensive cut just showing on my right forearm.)

Here I'm just wearing the lenses with my most expressionless face, for maximum creepiness.

In this one I am dressed as "The Host"....

Here, I am a Zombie in Paradise.

And finally, a plain old ragged zombie.
(If you look carefully, you may see that I also had one end of a worm protruding from the side of my neck, and the other end just below the edge of my right sleeve.)
I got the best compliment ever from this costume, although it took me a year to receive it...
Some trick-or-treaters came by, a mom and her young child (probably 6 or 7), and we (as always) were very nice and gave the kid a good handful of candy. As they said thank you and turned to leave, the mom mentioned to me, "We almost didn't come to your house this year because my kid was so frightened by you last year."

Is that not the greatest endorsement of a halloween costume ever??

(You can also view the Yahoo! photo album here, if the pictures don't show up for you for whatever reason (mainly because Yahoo! sucks).)

Thank you, I was quite proud of all of these looks. (Note also on the last one, how the exposed portion of my stomach has been completely whitened also....)

Pics aren't showing up here, but I was able to see them in your album. I think the black contacts may be one of the coolest things I've ever seen! I really like them. The pics are great, especially the costumes. Very nice with the attention to detail!

Uh-huh. That was what I thought. That was why it was so white! (this coming from quite possibly one of the whitest men on earth whose body is genetically capable of producing melanin)

Very cool look. I would love to get some freaky contacts. I would go for all white probably.

Stupid Yahoo! ... the pics worked fine when I posted the article, and now on a different computer the links are all broken. Gotta try some other pix hosting service....

BlueDev, I have in prior years (particularly just post-college) been a poster boy for the "fish-belly white" geek coloration. Playing more ping-pong instead of more frisbee recently has probably started me on the road back to that....

Oh, and the only problem with all-white contacts is that there has to be the clear spot in the middle for you to actually SEE through, so your pupil will still show black. And if you try to cover it up, either you can't see a damn thing or everything is all filmy and blurred. That's one reason I went for the all-black, besides the fact that I think they're creepier (and therefore cooler).

I didn't think about that aspect of them. Yeah, that would make white not work that well. Unless I wanted to find out what it would be like to live with cataracts.

Me, I'm just white. It doesn't matter what I do, so I finally learned to stop trying. Sunscreen and I are friends. I am either white or red, nothing in between. White hurts a lot less and won't give me cancer, so I stay white.

It's right there at the very end of the post, mig.

But it's also right here, just 'cause I like ya.

Extremely creepy. I think I would have freaked out if I encountered you with that costume in a dark alley.

Try photobucket.com for picture hosting, I heard that one is good.

Ha! Goodbye, crappy Yahoo! picture links. Hello, at-least-halfway-decent free server!

(Sorry Raven, I went with Villagephoto. Thanks for the recommendation, though!)

That last picture...isn't that of you after the NY marathon when you didn't take proper nipple chafing precautions?

AHHH! NIPPLE CHAFE!!!

Those contacts would do me in, those things scare the bajeezus out of me. Needless to say, I want a pair REALLY bad!
on Oct 21, 2004
hmmmm . . . creative yet disturbing. Nice photos, citahellion.
on Oct 22, 2004
I probably would look like that if I tried to run a marathon, but it wouldn't be because of nipple chafe....
And thanks for the indirect pointer to villagephoto, TW.
